Dr. Michelle Morrow

Dr. Morrow -- or "Dr. Michelle," as you will see on her lab coat -- received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, in Augusta. Her post doctoral studies include numerous courses in Implantology and Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Northwestern District Dental Society.

Dr. Michelle established Dawsonville Distinctive Dentistry in 1985, providing area residents with state-of-the-art family and cosmetic dentistry in a relaxed environment. Her goal was to provide a setting in which the patient and doctor work together for optimum, cost-effective care, which has been well-achieved over the 24 years. She says, "That's what makes us different. We seriously consider our patients' opinions and concerns when discussing treatment. We generally can offer acceptable alternative treatment plans to accommodate the budget, which we like to do."

Dr. Michelle loves the outdoors, which includes playing tennis, golf and sailing with Captain Tony (her Sitzu). Indoors, she enjoys ballroom dancing and hearing about her patients' interests

Dr. R. Matthew Dunford

Dr. Dunford has an undergraduate degree in Medical Biology and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He moved back home to Georgia in 2001 when he joined Dr. Michelle. Dr. Dunford regularly attends the most up-to-date, continuing-education classes available. He has completed courses at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) and has lectured about the CEREC CAD/CAM same-day crown system he uses in his office.

When discussing his thoughts about dentistry, Dr Dunford says, "I love working in a profession where there are so many advancements in dental technology, but there is no substitute for that 'gentle touch' and having empathy for our patients. Here at our practice, we want to treat you with the same care we would want for ourselves--that means no rushing, taking the time to make sure you are comfortable during treatment, and being available to answer any questions and concerns you might have."

Dr. Dunford likes to give back, working for a number of years with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys camping, hiking, hunting and fishing, and recently took a group of Scouts on a 40-mile sea kayaking trip off the Georgia coast. His favorite past time, however, is spending time with his wife, Tana, and their five children: Alex, Eden, Brooke, Preston, and Rowan.
